The Hand Spun Honeysuckle Vest

The Material:     These vests are hand spun, hand knit, and hand dyed in house from 100% wool. We always use plant dyes to achieve our rich yet natural colours. *The wool roving used for these was second hand

The Style:     This pull-over vest is loose knit for comfort and ease, and of course is cropped in length so it sits nicely at the top of your high-rise bottoms, or layered over long tops or dresses. It is available with either the original rounded neckline, or the updated V neck.

Colours:     These vests will be fully made and dyed to order, and the colours we're offering are brown, yellow, rusty pink, or undyed white wool. *Inherent to the process of natural dye, colour tones are subject to variation and exact tones can be difficult to guarantee.

Sizing:     The knit allows for some stretch, giving these pieces some flexibility size wise. For most versatile wear, order true to your size. Alternatively, you can size down if you'd like your vest to fit tight over a bra/fitted top, or size up if you plan to layer your vest over bulkier pieces and like a looser fit with more drape. Please consult our size chart before ordering.

To order:    Select your colour of choice, and include your size and desired neckline in the checkout notes. This style is available in all sizes. 

Care:     To care for your vest, wash as sparingly as possible (should be almost never), and only by hand with gentle soap, ideally lanolin soap. When wet, wool knits—especially loose knits like this—are prone to stretching out of shape so it is crucial not to wring out or hang the wet vest. After washing, simply squeeze as much water out as possible. (*Tip; after wetting, you may also lay the wet vest flat on a clean dry towel, roll it up, and step on it to pull out extra water). To dry, lay it flat on a towel out of the sun to preserve the colour, being sure to lay it out evenly and without stretching. Alternatively, if you would like to make your vest SLIGHTLY wider or longer, after being wetted and squeezed out you can lay it out on a towel, stretching it slightly to the desired width and/or length. You may use safety pins to hold the shape by adhering to the towel beneath while drying. 

Please allow for up to six weeks for your vest to be completed and shipped.
